Playdate at the Lake

OK Max, toughen up. Learn how to swim.

Yesterday Max and mommy had a playdate with Arthur at the Enka Lake beach. Max dipped in the water. First skirting the shore, picking up shells, sand and Arthur's beach toys. Then he started sitting in the water. I watched Arthur go deeper and deeper until he came out of water to play with Max's Bike. Max stayed in water getting deeper and deeper. As I watched Max stand up and sit down in the water I thought how funny he was. We hadn't been to the beach to really swim before. He's swimming with floaties in our pool, like a champ.

He then sat down one time and sank and sank. Forgetting I was Pregnant, I jumped up, ran forward, toppled over because of the weight of my huge belly. I ran for the water and pulled Max up. He was so surprised to find out that he couldn't breathe under water. He was a big boy though. He didn't cry, didn't want to get out of the water, just wanted to keep playing. Good job Max!

I watched him play some more... I stayed close the water's edge this time. He didn't go that far out again. He stayed a little more shallow. He walked on his hands along the edge of the water, belly down, feet floating behind him. Then all of sudden, his hands gave way and his head went under water and he tried and tried to pull his little head up. I jumped into the water and pulled him up. Again no crying, just surprise that he actually put his head under water. We had a long talk about standing up if we sunk again and not trying to breathe under water.

He did really well. We came home and went swimming with daddy to wash beach off. He wanted to get in the pool with no floaties. He also wanted to swim on his, not realizing he doesn't know how to swim or float without arm floaties. We'll work on that!

Good Job Max! You're fearless. And I almost went into labor.

Baby Sean is three weeks old.

I patted him on the belly and said "Good baby".

Ashley, Rachel, Miles, and Kayla came to swim and visit. That was great fun in the pool. They splash a lot.

Chris, Candace and Keegan came to visit. I had fun playing with Keegan.

Soccer Party

Sunday, Dad had all his soccer buddies over for a big party. We were all supposed to play outside and swim and BBQ.

But it rained, so everyone (all 30-40) played inside except Max and Derby and few people chasing after him! Max played in the rain and made mommy chase him up and down the hill. Derby had fetch partners all day long.

Max learned how to ride his ride-along down the steep hill. John Carswell and Max took turns. Max would say "mine turn". John Carswell would say "Maxie's Turn" Then Max would stand in front of John Carswell so he couldn't go down the hill. Here's me riding my push along down the hill!

The Nature Center

On Saturday, Mom and Max went to the nature center, while dad recovered from surgery at home. We saw Bears and Cougars. We heard a peacock yerlping real loud.

I had fun petting sheeps, goats, and cows. I loved the Sheep with the dreadlocks. I had lots of fun chasing a chicken.

And the best part of the Nature Center was sitting on the old tractor and pretending to ride it! We had to come back to it twice, so I could get my fill!

MIKE!

We have some modest remodelling going on in prep for new baby brother. As a result we have a lot guys coming and going by the shed. A couple of times today and yesterday, Bill or Ashley will come in the house and yell "Mike"...

Well, now Max is standing at the bottom of the stairs yelling "MIKE!" Then I overheard him downstairs whispering to himself "Mike, Mike, Mike"..

Silly Max... That's Daddy!

Time for a big boy bed?

This afternoon Max refused to go down for a nap.
Daddy went in and told him to lay down. He got quiet for a minute. then we heard a loud "HULLO?" And by the time I got out of my office, Max had opened the gate, closed it and was at the bottom of the stairs yelling for "GaGa"! (Ga-ga is Rosemary).

Yikes!

I'm a big boy now!

Learning to Swim

Easter

Last weekend was Easter. Max and mommy were in San Diego and we had a good time. Max colored Easter eggs.

Max found his Easter basket behind a plant. it looked like a firetruck and was filled with candy.

We went on an Easter egg hunt at Grandma Betty and Grandpa Al's House. Max found lots of eggs with Candy. Yum. Trevor and Torri helped Max find his eggs, so he shared his candy!

Max almost bit Auntie Darla's fingers off trying to get the chocolate. Shark Attack! and big chocolate kisses!

St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patricks Day everyone
Here are some lovely new photos of Max in Photo-mode.

Max had a very eventful weekend with lots of company. Then on Monday night, we had Chris and Carolyn over for Corned beef and cabbage.

Here's our cabbage and corned beef dinner. Go Irish!

He was so excited everyone was wearing green. He pointed to everyone's shirts one by one. And he'd run up to us and say "Green".
he also has a new light in his play room and hallway, which he had to point out to Chris and Carolyn, repeatedly, saying "New light." - "Pretty".
Here's Mommy and Carolyn. The little Pregnant ladies. And here's Max striking another nice pose for the camera!

BYE BYE

This morning Max collected up his Mr. Potato head suitcase and his pizza making kit. He threw the Pizza kit over his shoulder and was saying "Da da, da da.... bye bye"

Max went to the back door, so that he could travel away with his suitcases, just like Daddy does.

Ah. we miss you daddy.
